I believe that success is being able to wake up each morning, look in the mirror and be satisfied with your life. I believe successful people have learned to appreciate all the good things in their lives. If they have food, clothing and shelter, they are grateful to have these things because they are fortunate compared to about 80 percent of the rest of the world.
Success does not mean being extremely wealthy. It means being able to enjoy the life you have. It means having the love and support of your family and friends. Success means having peace of mind, and being able to experience joy in every day life. I believe that education is one road that leads to a successful life. Not because having an education means earning a bigger income, but because having an education provides us with knowledge and critically thinking skills which help us to understand that we have the power to create the life we want, and to know the importance of taking personal responsibility for our lives. When we truly understand this, then we are free to live the life of our dreams. I believe that success is a choice, and in order to be successful we have to be willing to work towards our goals.
This might mean working for minimum wage until we are able to start our own businesses. Successful people take action, and they take responsibility for their lives. Failures sit around and blame the system. The only negative aspect to being successful is that you may lose relationships with friends who are unsuccessful, or relatives may become jealous and unfriendly. This is natural. Some people are afraid of success, so they fear successful people.
Others are uncomfortable being around successful, happy people because it is a constant reminder of their own failures. I say success is a good thing. In my view, success means being happy, having a peace of mind, being loved, enjoying your life, and having your basic needs easily met. Everything else is a bonus.
