Crash – scene analysis

The issue that discussed in the movie is about the racist problem The scenes that highlights these issues : During the night , two black man(Anthony and Peter) walk out from coffee shop and they discuss about the bad attitude of the waitress that who is black women and one of the black man was keep influencing another black man that in nowadays society , the BLACK and WHITE was in different classes and standard , the BLACK will get eject by the WHITE . At the moment , one pair of the WHITE couple (Jean and Rick) walk infront of the Anthony and Peter and walk away , Anthony thought this is a racial discrimination . Jean is find Rick for tell him , she need their house lock change it again tomorrow because she feel insecure and she can’t believe the locksmith which is a BLACK man (Daniel ) . The police ( Ryan ) who was the racist which mention at the middle of the movie and at the beginning , he groped as he was make a body search to a BLACK woman ( Christine ) which had drunk and keep taunts him . In this movie , mentioning that all people who might be able have a gun to protect themselves and that might be a power for them to attack other person . The two black man , Anthony and Peter was owned a guns and they use it as their advantages to robbed people . Other than that , one of the scene show that when the locksmith , Daniel back to his home , and talk to his 5 years old daughter which hiding under her bed . She still afraid of the bullets from the bad neighborhood they recently moved away from . This show that they have lived at a bad environment place which is all of them have their own gun and have racist problem and stereotypical that’s why all of them use gun to attack people but didn’t get caught by police . The racial stereotypes which highlighted in the movie was at the beginning of the movie , two women which one of the one is Mexican and Asian women blame each other for the mishap and make racial jibes at the middle of the road . The Mexican woman , Ria highlight the weakness of the Asian woman about the slang that she pronouns and she was stereotyping the Asian woman . The other racial stereotypes was Jean which was the woman and her husband , who get robbed by two black man at the first , that make she can’t believe in the locksmith , Daniel which is Mexicans but she just assumed he was the BLACK skin man . She also claims the locksmith will sell the keys and they will be robbed again . She think that all BLACK skin people was the most dangerous person and if get closed with it will in trouble . In this movie , there shows many racial stereotypes , they stereotypes that Asians is weak , short and can’t speak English well . Other than that , WHITE skin people stereotypes BLACK skin people which are dangerous , do thing without thinking and they was lower classes people in country of WHITE skin people . BLACK skin people live in country of WHITE skin people , but they totally get eject by WHITE skin people , because of their skin color and races . One of the script that say BLACK people get disgrace by schools , lack of opportunity , and bias in the judicial system , and they just can’t say and do anything about it . The representation of those stereotypes was negative and the racial backgrounds is neutral , doesn’t count as accurate or inaccurate . For example, Hispanics don’t speak English very well as in the movie or not at all. But from my research, I found that actually Hispanics can speak English in well, very well indeed, in the fact that many Hispanics folks continue to converse in Spanish and they perhaps giving English speakers the impression that is the only languages they speak . Other than that , they stereotypes that WHITE people are all the racist and this certainly true with it . Many groups of people have suffered in this stereotypes by white people however not all white people . A majority of everyone hold the beliefs that white people are no more racist that anyone else , In fact , being cognizant of this particular stereotypes , many fols are particularly attentive to being politically correct . Besides , I have found an news about a happy interracial couple which the man is African American and married with a white American woman . He says that his perception at the first was white people all negative and all of them racist , didn’t like black people . He taught as a kid to be afraid of white police officer that always shooting , beating or killing young black man . After get in contact with Whites , he realize that he had a lot of misconception about white people and he was personally involve in Whites after he in college. His wife is a White because he think that race is not the focal point of their attention . The use of stereotypes in the context of this movie it can be impact society , the reason why is can be influence the society to stereotypes people that different races and skin color . Nowadays a lot of news or media that can totally effect people and influence them . Based on the theory that I used was Two-step-Flow theory which is divided to two distinct stages , Opinion leader receive the information and messages from the media and interpret the message that receive to opinion followers (Paul Lazarsfeld, Bernard Berelson, and Hazel Gaudet in The People’s Choice, a 1944) . Media would make society and world be in stereotypes to assumed people and make the persuasion to stereotypes people . For the example , at the movie for the one who want to protect themselves by get away from dangerous , they have their own gun . This is the point that might influences people and might count as a violence issues .
